The story
Nova Rae started producing at home, in a bedroom studio built from secondhand gear and a pair of headphones she still uses. Her self-released edits gained traction online during 2024 and 2025, mostly through word of mouth among DJs who started playing them in their own sets.
She joined Molang Showbiz through the Prodigies program in 2025, at 19. The program is designed for artists early in their careers. It focuses on mentorship, a sustainable touring schedule and education in the business side of music, so that early momentum turns into a long career rather than a single busy summer.
The sound
Nova’s productions are warm, melodic and built for the hour before sunset: unhurried grooves, vocal fragments chopped into hooks, and basslines that swell rather than hit. Her edits often reframe older soul and disco samples, which is part of why they traveled so quickly between DJs.
“I make tracks for the moment when people stop talking and just start moving. If it works at golden hour, it works anywhere.” — Nova Rae
In the studio she works quickly but edits slowly. A typical idea starts as a loop sketched in an evening, then sits for weeks while she tests it in her sets, adjusting the arrangement based on how a real crowd responds. Several of her early edits went through many versions before release.
She is now developing her first EP of fully original material, working on arrangement and mixdown with support from producers in the Molang network. There is no release date yet. The focus is on getting the songs right.
On stage
2026 is Nova’s festival debut season. Several of her sets have landed in sunset slots, a placement that suits her music. She is also opening selected dates of the Solstice Pulse residency at Sphere in Las Vegas and their headline show at Tokyo Dome on November 28, 2026.
Working alongside Sol and Pulse has been central to her development. The duo invites her into production meetings, shares session files and walks her through how a large-scale show is cued and run. Before each opening set, she runs her own show with the house lighting team so that her transition into the headline set feels like one continuous night.
“Watching them program a show taught me that a set isn’t a playlist. It’s a story with lights.” — Nova Rae
Mentorship & schedule
As part of the Prodigies program, Nova’s calendar is planned with rest built in. Her team caps back-to-back travel and protects studio time between shows. The program’s focus areas for her include:
- One-to-one mentorship with senior producers and the Solstice Pulse team
- A touring schedule paced around recovery days and studio blocks
- Publishing and rights education, so she understands how her music earns
- Guidance on clearing samples as she moves from edits to original releases
What’s next & working with Nova
After the festival season and her opening dates, Nova will return to the studio to finish the EP. She is also building a short headline club set to test new material in front of smaller rooms before any larger announcements.
Nova considers festival sets, opening slots, club shows and remix commissions that fit around her studio schedule. Because her calendar is planned with the Prodigies program, requests are reviewed with her mentors before confirmation. Contact [email protected] for bookings and [email protected] for interviews.
