Representation Terms
A plain-language overview of how Molang representation agreements are structured.Last updated October 1, 2026
Please note: this page is a general overview for artists, families and industry partners. It is not a contract and does not create any obligations. Every representation relationship is governed by the individual agreement signed by the artist and Molang Showbiz Worldwide Entertainment Inc. Where this page and a signed agreement differ, the signed agreement applies.
Scope of representation
Each agreement sets out which parts of an artist’s career Molang represents. Some artists work with us across all four divisions; others engage us for one area only, often while they continue to work with an existing manager, label or publisher. Typical scopes include:
- Theatrical & Motion — film, television and stage roles, auditions and negotiations;
- Concert & World Tours — live bookings, routing, promoter relations and tour production;
- Studio Productions — development and production of films, series and concert films;
- Global Brand Endorsements — campaigns, ambassadorships and sync licensing.
Representation may be exclusive or non-exclusive for each scope. Where it is exclusive, the artist agrees not to engage another agency for that same work during the term. Areas outside the agreed scope remain the artist’s to manage as they choose.
Territories and term
Agreements name the territories they cover. Some are worldwide; others are limited to particular regions, working alongside an artist’s existing representatives elsewhere. Our offices in Los Angeles, London, Seoul and Tokyo coordinate so that an artist has one point of contact even when work crosses borders.
Each agreement has a defined initial term and explains whether, and how, it renews. Many agreements include review points where the artist and their agent sit down to look at goals, results and the shape of the year ahead.
Commission
Molang’s commission is agreed in each contract. The agreement sets out what earnings commission applies to, how it is calculated, when it is payable and how any expenses are handled. We do not publish standard rates, because scope, territory and services vary from artist to artist. Artists receive written statements for the income we handle on their behalf.
Approvals
We negotiate, but the artist decides. Our agreements are built around approvals:
- no engagement, endorsement or appearance is accepted without the artist’s consent, or that of their authorized representative;
- artists approve use of their name, image, likeness and voice in campaigns and promotional material;
- any use of an artist’s likeness or voice to create digital or AI-generated replicas requires their separate, explicit written consent.
Agreements also record any categories of work an artist does not want to be put forward for.
Termination
Every agreement explains how either side can bring it to an end, including notice periods and circumstances that allow earlier termination, such as a serious breach. It also covers what happens to engagements negotiated during the term, including whether commission continues on them after representation ends. We aim to make any transition orderly, so that commitments to audiences, promoters and partners are honored. Artists keep ownership of their own name and stage identity throughout, and after, any representation relationship.
Artists and representatives considering an agreement are encouraged to take independent legal advice before signing. For general questions about how representation works at Molang, write to [email protected].
